FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between a SMART repair and a powdercoat refurbishment?

Comparison of a clean, shiny black alloy wheel that has had a powder coat refurbishment on the left with a dirty, scratched, and damaged alloy wheel on the right.
  • A full powder coat refurbishment is the most comprehensive solution for restoring alloy wheels and is ideal for customers seeking a long-lasting, high-quality finish. This process allows for complete colour changes and delivers a highly durable coating designed to withstand daily wear, road debris, and harsh weather conditions. In addition to enhancing appearance, powder coating helps prevent corrosion by fully sealing the wheel surface, extending its lifespan. All powder coat refurbishments are backed by a 12-month warranty for added peace of mind, and when all four wheels are refurbished, free loan wheels are provided to minimise vehicle downtime and inconvenience.

  • A SMART repair is a quick and efficient solution designed to address small to medium areas of damage such as kerb rash and light scuffs, making it an ideal option for improving the appearance of alloy wheels without the time and cost of a full refurbishment. This budget-friendly approach is particularly well suited for customers who are not planning to keep their vehicle long term or who simply want to enhance its presentation for resale or return. While a SMART repair can significantly improve the overall look of the wheel, it is important to note that it is not a perfect or permanent solution and may not fully restore the wheel to its original factory condition.

I need my vehicle; do you offer a courtesy car?

Unfortunately, we do not offer courtesy cars. However, to ensure minimal disruption, we do provide free loan wheels when all four wheels are booked in for refurbishment, allowing you to continue using your vehicle while we work on your alloys. We also offer a range of express turnaround options on selected services, including same-day turnaround and Monday–Friday services, helping to reduce the time you are without your vehicle as much as possible. Please note that if loan wheels are returned damaged, charges may apply.

What is a diamond cut wheel?

A diamond cut alloy wheel is one that has been professionally finished using a CNC lathe, which precisely removes a fine layer of aluminium from the wheel’s face. This process creates a distinctive two-tone appearance, combining painted or lacquered inserts with a bright silver, metal-finished face.

My tyre fitter mentioned corrosion on my alloy, what does this mean?
